Hi Judy,
I have found the following websites useful for teaching VCE Systems
Engineering.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/design/
Great BBC site explaining mechanics, pneumatics, electronics and systems
principles.
http://www.technologystudent.com/index.htm
Lovely mechanics animations that students can easily follow.
http://www.dynamicscience.com.au/tester/solutions/hydraulicus/simplemach
inesindex.htm
A pretty good mechanics animation site
www.howstuffworks.com
is very well presented and wide ranging. Great for alternate electrical
energy production and just about any machine.
http://www.instructables.com/technology/
Helpful for students struggling to come up with a U3 and 4 project
http://www.oatleyelectronics.com/
sourcing quality larger parts such as motors and motor drivers,
sprockets and chains
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/index.rc
very cheap RC parts from Hong Kong. Quality has mainly been very good,
although take care as I have heard of one fan assembly falling apart at
high velocity.
I hope that this is helpful,
