Dear colleague

VCAA is currently conducting research about VCE Systems Engineering to
inform the likely review of the study in 2011.

We are interested in conducting interviews (focus groups) with students
about:

Their perceptions of the study - strengths and aspects that could be
improved

Workload

Assessment tasks

Commonalities and differences with similarly focused programs (e.g. VET
Electrotechnology) or VCE studies (such as Physics)

Their intended pathways into education and training.

We also wish to have one or two focus groups with teachers about similar
aspects to the above, from a teacher's perspective.

I'd hope to organise these focus groups within the next four to six
weeks, possibly during school time for students (could be a lunchtime at
a particular school) and possibly after school for teachers in a
regional area or at the VCAA office in Melbourne.

Can you please contact me if you wish to assist in this research by
email tran.lorraine.i at edumail.vic.gov.au

Many thanks, Lorraine.
