[Year 12 SofDev] Course Advice

Swinburne has a really good game design/ animation program (undergrad degree). My son graduated from there and he learnt a fair bit from Swinburne.  I have been to JMC and it feel like a better version of high school, I wasn’t impressed. It is also expensive.  I’ve heard its good for performing arts / film type of courses

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if any of you can help me out a touch with this student and her tertiary preferences.

She is interested in Game Design/Animation and wants to know about the providers listed below. Do you have any insight / recommendations for pathways for this student?

She has listed RMIT and Swinburne, but also has listed some courses with JMC Academy, Academy of Interactive Entertainment and SAE Creative Media, a bit of a longshot but just wondering if you have any experience with any of these providers?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Sarah,

I’ve just had a VTAC meeting with Natalie Montagner and she is hoping to pursue something in Game Design/Animation.
There isn’t a huge range of courses available in the ‘mainstream’ providers.

She has listed RMIT and Swinburne, but also has listed some courses with JMC Academy, Academy of Interactive Entertainment and SAE Creative Media, a bit of a longshot but just wondering if you have any experience with any of these providers? Mum just wants to check how reputable they are and Nat is the first student I’ve worked with taking this particular path and thought you might have some insight??
