[Year 12 SofDev] query about study design

Hi David

To me it means that the solution that has been developed meets the specifications that were defined in the SRS, and that the students have done a useability test and if there were any weaknesses in the useability test then the students have either modified their program to meet these weaknesses. Or they have written a statement saying that they knew that there were issues but constraints effected their ability to repair them, eg time.

The second part of the evaluation report includes the students discussing their Gantt chart and saying how it helped or did not help in their monitoring of their project and specifically explaining which tasks took more or less time and if they used the Gantt chart to constantly manage how they were going. It could include a journal that they have keep to keep track of where they are or they may have annotated the original Gantt chart. They also have the option of creating a diagram that shows this and it needs to have extensive annotations showing what is happening.

I hope this helps.

Vera

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] query about study design

Hi,
Is someone able to please explain why the study design just says the following:

A software solution that meets the software requirements
specification and the results of the useability test
AND
An assessment of the extent to which the project plan (Gantt chart)
assisted in monitoring project progress in one of the following:
* a written report
* an annotated visual plan.

When in fact there are other assessable things that relate to the criteria 5 - 8 rubrics, such as a description of how files are managed within the software solution. The assessment of the project plan is specifically mentioned though.
David.
