[Year 12 SofDev] first time teaching SD

Hi Scott,
I have worked on the principle that for SAC 1, they all must do the one language.
For the SAT, they get to choose. I am reasonably proficient at VB and borderline with Python, so I tell the students that they can choose whatever language they want, but if they want any help from me, it must be in those 2 languages, otherwise they're completely on their own. Last year I had a couple of guys doing swift code, so they regularly had to do a stand-up walkthrough of their code to me and one of our technicians (I'm lucky enough to have a techy with some coding skills). They had to explain what each bit of the code does.
I hope this helps.
Regards
Damien

Hi people,
Teaching SD for the first time in 2020. I have a very small class and it's split in the middle in regards to programming languages they have done in previous years.
How have you managed things like this in your classes where kids want to use different languages in regards to assessment tasks or where you've had to teach examples to the class? Interested in your experiences so I can plan how I will tackle this for 2020.
Thanks,
Scott McCleary
