[Year 12 SofDev] Data Collection

Hello Esteemed Colleagues!
I am  ruminating about the "Data Collection" phase of the SAT.  I understand it to be the requirements interview with the customer and any research into similar products/coding techniques.
What else do you include/advise in this area?
