[Year 12 SofDev] sofdev Digest, Vol 159, Issue 7

I saw a year 12 textbook at the DLTV conference that looked OK, but I can't engender the title publisher or authors.  Can someone help with that?

On behalf of the ACS and LEGO Education, Mitch Resnick is coming to Melbourne on the 8th of November. If interested - Information for this event is listed below.

ACS is pleased to host learning expert, Prof Mitchel Resnick, as our next ICT Educators’ Global Leaders’ Series speaker, who will focus on training primary and secondary school teachers to prepare successful environments for today’s learners. Join us for this special ICT Educators’ Global Series event in collaboration with LEGO Education. All primary and secondary teachers are invited to attend.

>From the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in America, Prof. Resnick is an outstanding professional in childhood education—a world leader in developing 21st century skills in primary and secondary school students. You may know his work through Scratch, the programming language used to teach students code worldwide and in nearly every Australian school.

Author of Lifelong Kindergarten: Cultivating Creativity through Projects, Passions, Peers, and Play, and engaging several partnerships, Prof. Resnick is LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research, Director of the Okawa Center, and Director of the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.

He undertook his PhD under the supervision of the late Prof. Seymour Papert—one of the most celebrated thought leaders in education in recent times (Artificial Intelligence; Logo; Constructionism). He is the winner of the 2011 McGraw Prize in Education, the AACE EdMedia Pioneer Award in 2013, and has been listed as one of the 100 most creative people in business by Fast Company in 2011.
