Phil has made an interesting point about the Network Diagram.

Your Section "2.2 Operating Environment" is clearly needed and as you put "A diagram of the network could be included in the appendix".

The descriptor in Criteria 3 of the SAT states "describes precisely and accurately all relevant aspects of the technical environment ... of the solution", so therefore a network diagram might be appropriate for some solutions, but other diagrams could also be relevant.

On the SAT training day I used the description of the eco-system which the solution lives (sorry an Outdoor Ed. Teachers metaphor coming through) to help talk about the "technical environment", so the use of any diagram could be beneficial in explaining physical connections and interactions with other components.

I think the import word is "could".

Thanks Claudia, I notice you have a network diagram in your SRS. I assume this is optional as they are not mentioned in the study design. Your wording is incorrect under the network diagram.

Hi all,

I indicated at the training day I would update the SRS pro forma - attached - free to use - but do double check I have covered the criteria as required.

I have the completed Project Plan coming in the end of next week and then SRS first week of next term - last year I had all deliverables in at one time at end of semester (with a number of observations along the way).
However, this year I have a number of students who did Informatics last year and they pretty much demanded dates for each section and as early as possible in semester.
