What if you made a new solution file and tried to add everything as a new existing item?

Thanks for the reply, Damien.
What you suggested is exactly what I tried to (including the backup part), and that was when it complained about things already being defined. Somehow they’re in there, but … not …. :(

Hi Chris,
Before playing around too much with it, make a backup!!
Then I think you should be able to move the file(s) manually and then from the project menu add an existing item. I’ve done similar once before in VB and had a few sticky issues because I didn’t bring the designer code in as well, I’d assume C# has similar files so watch for where they might be saved and bring them in too.
Good luck

Damien

Hi All,

Working in Visual Studio (Community), one of my students just did a “save as” of his work and saved his .cs files to his desktop. (I don’t know why.) Now his project seems to have lost its link to these files, but when we try to add them back in, it complains that all the parts are already defined. Has anyone come across this before? Is there a (quick) fix?

Thanks,

Chris
