[Year 12 SofDev] Criteria 8 deliverables

Talking of mocking people:
As a grumpy old man and pedant (retired), can I say that "Criteria 8" is
driving me mad :-)
I know that language changes, but so far as I am aware the singular is still
"criterion" and "criteria" is the plural - unless VCAA has decreed
otherwise.
Sorry. Rant over. Back to rewatching Malcolm Roberts magnificent display of
(please insert your preferred word/expression here) when discussing climate
change on Q&A last night.

Dear Mel
We don't mock people here.
We have another list for that.
Regards,
Mark

Hi,
At the risk of being mocked - or worse! - here is my "criteria" deck with
tips for meeting them.
For criteria 8, I ask the students to:
- Regularly update their Microsoft Project Gantt chart with Actual
Start/ Actual Finish, % complete and baselines ("annotation")
- Keep a log of major project changes, milestones, reflections, etc.
("project log")
- And there is a section in the Evaluation Report for a "post-project
review" which is common project management methodology for evaluating at the
end of a project which looks at both the conduct of the project but also the
project outcome
I am looking for Gantt chart and materials that are:
- regularly updated
- show changes as a result of new information such as criteria,
deadlines, effort estimates
- show reflection, learnings about what work will be done and how
long it will take
- reference some of the key factors that affect the effectiveness of
project plans (scope control, risk management, environment changes, etc.)
Some actual examples of how the students have had to adjust their plans:
- when we found out Sorting and a Usability test were in scope (scope
change)
- days lost due to school events (time change)
- breaking down "Development" into more granular tasks at the start
of development (task identification change)
That's my $0.02.
Cheers, Mel

Hi all,
I was just wondering what teachers are doing for criteria 8 in terms of what
work they are expecting from the students. Assessing a project plan is
something I've never had to do.
Cheers,
Ben.
