Dear All
I have noticed that some students struggle to visualise the timelines
through to the completion of the SAT, even though they are familiar with
project management.
One of the things I have done recently is to give the students a copy of
the school's Term 2 and Term 3 calendar along with my milestones. I have
given this to them on two A3 pages. Each cell has a space under it for them
to write in their SAT related details. I have also given them a list of
timelines for observations and submissions. This lets the students map out
my timelines against the interruptions that occur at the school. So having
Year 11s and 12s in the one class I have Criterion due while one year level
is on exams and the other is in class, excursions, camps, etc. This allows
them to then set their own milestones in order to meet mine.
This gives them an overall view of the entire project in front of them
before they get going and a starting place to help them develop their own
project plan.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Phil Feain.
