I mean to say, people.

In 1750 the Brits were able to skip *11 entire days* to reform their
calendar so that the new legal year began on 1 January rather than 25 March
(Lady Day) and they finally synchronised with the Gregorian calendar, as
used in most of western Europe.

*Their* jets weren't falling out the sky!
