Subject: Re: [Year 12 SofDev] Python and Tkinter

Here's a trap for newbies - myself included. The module to import is Tkinter in Python 2.x and tkinter in 3.x. The case has changed, so if you are writing in 3.x check for any occurences of Tk... and change to tk...

There is a lot out there. My favourite is programarcadegames.com<http://programarcadegames.com> which uses python 3.x and the pygame module.

Google quickly turned up
http://sebsauvage.net/python/gui/ (Building a basic GUI application step-by-step in Python with Tkinter and wxPython)
etc, etc.

Hi,

I am new to Python and have been teaching SD using Visual Basic because I understand how to create a GUI and a full working product.

I’ve been working a little with Python, but I don’t understand how you can create a full product with a GUI outside of the Shell.

I found some notes on Tkinter, but they don’t seem to work.

Can I get some pointers, or be pointed in the right direction on this one?

Cheers,
VIc
