That’s right Expression Blend, Blender is a 3D imaging tool isn’t it?
Microsoft have some good tutorials on the web.

Have you looked at Blender (in the MS Expression Studio suite)? It produces XAML ready for editing in Visual Studio. Sketchflow which is part of the same suite is an interesting prototyping/documentation tool. I haven’t gone far with either but was impressed with what I looked at.

Hello all SDers!
I’ve decided next year to give my SD kids more ‘real world’ programming experience by having a crack at making some Windows 8 Apps. Basically all you need is windows 8 and the windows 8 version of Visual Studio. The code is still in VB – however the UI’s are made in XAML (But Visual Studio does that for you mostly – when you paint on the textboxes and so on using the toolbox).
I’ve still installed the Desktop version of Visual Studio Express 2012 as well, BUT I’m keen to use the Windows 8 Apps as much as possible. Is there anyone else out there who is looking to head down this path? I would be happy to share thoughts/experiences with those interested.
The initial motivation in Transition week has been positive – a few students even went out and upgraded to Windows 8 to have a go over the break!
Thanks
Ben Hines
