Hi Ben,
My understanding was that the "Visual" was removed from the language names
to allow all forms of a language to make it more general and inclusive.
I asked the same question of C# and the answer is you can use the Visual
version or distribution.
Kind Regards

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] Choosing a Programming langauge for SoftDev
Hey all,
Just a quick query about choosing a programming language for Software
Development:
I have seen the list of languages that are approved for this year, will this
change much for next year? (2011 is when we intend to start up software dev
at our school).
At the moment our school has Visual Studio 2005 (I think). It looks like the
only language we can use from this is Visual Basic .NET?
Why can't we use Visual C# - but we can use C#?????
Our school is looking into the cost of starting Software Development, so any
suggestions on cheaper options of languages that Schools are using this year
would be much appreciated!
Thanks so much for your help and time.
