Dear colleagues
While we work in a dynamic, exciting discipline area, it is also very
demanding as we need to keep abreast of both technical and curriculum
developments. Next year, in particular, is a big year for both ICT and
IT. A new study design is being implemented in 2011, and the learning
curve is usually pretty steep in the first year. Also, in 2011 schools
will be preparing for, and some will be implementing, the first four
studies of the Australian Curriculum - English, Mathematics, Science and
History (P-10), and the related general capabilities. And ICT is one of
the 'big' three general capabilities along with literacy and numeracy.
All of these topics are the focus on the VITTA conference (29-30
November) so I would encourage you to attend this conference at
Caulfield Racecourse to both learn and share, and to celebrate your
achievements. At conferences, learning in formal sessions is always
nicely complemented by the informal sharing of ideas and knowledge with
colleagues and friends. And attending the conference dinner is a way to
relax with colleagues and to acknowledge outstanding achievements.
Support your subject association by attending the annual conference. For
conference details go to:

and for direct registration go to:

See you at the conference.
Regards
Paula
