[Year 12 SofDev] ER diagrams v data structure diagrams for 2011

They seem to do much the same job, but they're laid out a little
differently.

There aren't many rock-solid standards for charts like this in the IT world,
except perhaps for flowcharts and NS charts.  Everyone has their own take on
how they're supposed to look.

AFAIK, the data structure *table* is a different animal, however - it's a
data dictionary.
The data structure *chart* is a hierarchical map of a database structure
(e.g. records > fields)

After a while they all coalesce into a mass of 'data structure stuff' in my
head.
