Hi Kylie,
This is not a solution (sorry!) - just some advice. For the record, the
publishers of the text that David Dawson are I wrote have been equally
frustrating in this regard. I think if you pose your questions to this
list, then Mike and/or Therese might be able to answer you directly.
For next year, I will be publishing an SD text - and support materials and
SACs will all be available via my site without a password (just by
registration), as I know how annoying this can be!
Cheers,
Adrian

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] On the hunt for answers to Text book
I have been trying to get Thomson Publishing to give me the login and
password to the Software Development Text book(Fitzpatrick & Keane) my
students have purchased to no avail. Does anyone either have the login
details or the solutions to the Test Your Knowledge chapter reviews on file?
Any resources can't hurt as this is my first year teaching the subject and
I'm trying to do it in a combined class with Year 11 IT.
Can anyone help!?!

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] Podcasts to Improve Learning - book now
Podcasts to Improve Learning: part of the Certificate of Emerging
Technologies
Emerging technologies offer new opportunities for educators to deepen
learner engagement and improve the learning experience. Numerous new tools
and approaches have emerged and continue to emerge: blogs, wikis, podcasts,
social bookmarking, and social networking services.
The units in this course will explore the different technologies and suggest
their potential impact on teaching and learning. We will be focusing on
tools which increase learner choice and engagement, interaction, and the
formation of professional learning networks with fellow educators and
experts outside of classrooms.

How do podcasts help sustain your PLN and improve learning throughout life?
In this session we will be exploring podcasts (both listening to them and
making them) as an example of Web 2.0. Listening to podcasts can be a way of
sustaining your PLN. This session will also incorporate a discussion of the
issues arising out of the readings, including articles on Building your PLN
and Improving Student Learning through Podcasting. There will also be
hands-on exploration of some of the tools introduced in the discussion. This
VITTA created module is part of the Certificate in Emerging Technologies.
