[Year 12 SofDev] Visual Basic Resources

Hi Maggie,

Lovely to hear from you J)

I am thinking of putting together enough material in PHP to perhaps comprise
a skill set to meet the VCAA outline. It may be a thick booklet if not a
book.
You have prompted me to get working on it.
Stacks, queues, 2D arrays will flow on from 1D arrays and records which I
want to implement using OOP.

Better roll up the sleeves .....

There is a possibility that Kevork may publish a new book. But, then again,
he may not. I am hoping he will discuss stacks, queues and 2D arrays. 50% of
my programming plans are now useless. Hoping Kevork is reading this!

Maggie,
I am in the same boat as you, have looked and found some sites that do a
good job explaining some file task's for php but need to spend more time
with tehm. But I have not made the final decision yet. As I need to look at
both year levels and any other changes to make.
I wonder if there are any more resources for php that people can recommend.
I have been using Kevorks resources and found them fantastic

Since database is forbidden in 2011, I will be looking forward to Adrian's
new book and any other exercises that folks are producing (willing to
share). So, yeah, a textbook and a VB.NET new edition.

Haven't decided yet whether to go with VB.NET or stay with PHP.

Just hoping people can recommend a good resource for Visual Basic

The students here now have 2010 Visual Basic.Net Express Edition installed

I'm after a book that contains simple but effective activities & exercises
that students could use

We already use Adrian Janson's VB manual along with the Home & Learn manual

But I'm after something with small and discrete activities explaining
different features of the software

At present I end up writing my own exercise
