Hi Mike,
You may have solved this issue already - if not, I can help you out! There is no need to place the ole adapters on the form (as you would have with previous versions of VB.Net). Simply add a new data connection (you can find a tab for this underneath the solution explorer) - or under the View menu. A wizard will pop up that will guide you through the connection process and then VB.Net will add the table adapter, etc.
Hope this helps - and if not - let me know and I can elaborate further.
Cheers,
Adrian

Adrian, (and others), you may have some advice for me.
I am coming to the business end of U4O2 and wanted to get the kids up to speed on using VB .NET to access Access!
I was looking at the instructions in your book(Chap.13) and I am stuck. We are using VB 2005 Express Edition and when I or my students look in the Toolbox under the Data section, we do not get the ole adapters.
I was wondering if anyone out there has a script for calling DB's from VB .NET without using the adapters as clearly 'Express' means you don't get everything, but there must be a way to do these database calls.
Help...
