Dear colleagues

Last week the process of reviewing the VCE IT study design commenced.
This is a year-long process and is being undertaken by a review panel of
13 people, representing government, catholic and independent schools,
tertiary institutions, industry and the subject association. Over the
next five months a draft study design will be developed, and in
July/August everyone will have the opportunity to comment on it.

To assist the panel in its task of initially analysing the extent to
which the existing study design meets its intended needs, I invite you
to provide constructive comments about some or all of the units. Some
areas for consideration include suitability of outcomes, workload,
clarity of language, nature of content, level of student interest,
balance between theoretical and practical components. What do you like
and don't you like about the study? We want to hear both the strengths
and weaknesses of the current study, because we are mindful of
developing a revised study which supports continuity of good practice
with a touch of innovation.

And to put some minds at rest, the revised study design will not be
implemented until 2011, so it's business as usual next year.

The panel looks forward to receiving your feedback.

Regards

Paula
