[Year 12 SofDev] Teaching SD and ITA in the same classroom

This issue must concern all teachers of VCE subjects. Whether you are providing dual purpose classes because you feel that is in the best interests of your students or because you feel pressured to do so by your school.

There is a clear issue here with the teaching of two quite different studies within the one class. My opinion is that you should say "No!" and teach only one study , ie either ITA or SD but not both. Otherwise you will probably end up teaching both courses less well than you could and should. So say "No!" to your school and choose to teach only one of the two studies.

The other scenario is the teaching of year 11 and year 12 studies within the same class. More feedback on this issue please - even though it is OT for this list

  Yes I did that this year and it was terrible..I will not do it again, I don't think I was able to do the best job for either class

  Hi Everyone,

   

  Since the year 12s have left I thought I might ask this question. This year I have taught ITA and SD in the same classroom at the same time this year. I have not been real happy with the way it went so I thought I would ask if there anyone else in the same predicament and if so how did you handle it? Or if anyone has some suggestions then I would be most grateful.
