[Year 12 SofDev] programming and maths

Hello All,
I attended the ActionScript session at the conference. It was good, but I
had never before used ActionScript and my Flash is shaky. Just trying to
teach myself. How, with Action Script 3.0 do I use Action Script on a button
or other object?

My idea is that such a maths sim should:
be open source
be easily reprogrammed by students
be fun

Thats why I chose Game Maker
