Hi Robert,

I am very interested to bring in my class to this.

I have a class of 18 and I think most of them would love to go.
Does the teacher also need to be present with the students?

July

Hello Software Development Teachers,

Due to popularity the VCE Software Development day has been opened on
a
third day, Tuesday 29 July. The first 2 days on 16 and 24 July are now
almost fully booked. If you would like to book in your class or some
of
your students for the day simply contact me with a list of students
that
you would like to attend.

This full day program has been developed by SwinburneâEUR(tm)s Computer
Science and Software Engineering academics as an interactive, hands-on
workshop for Year 12 VCE Software Development Units 3 and 4 students,
based on the VCE Software Development curriculum. Students will be
guided through a computer game-based problem, starting with the use of
design tools. They will then create the algorithm, create the code and
then test the code. Students will be shown examples of networking
hardware and will learn about the different types of security threats
and how they affect systems. This day incorporates sections of the
2006
and 2007 examinations in which students scored least marks
(as stipulated by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority).

Topics include:
â--â--Algorithms and Test Tables
â--â--Software Design
â--â--Networking
â--â--Security

Students will find out about the different career pathways and
employment opportunities in the Information and Communication
Technologies (ICT) industry, with a focus on the software development
industry. The day will conclude with a presentation by current
Swinburne
Professional Software Development students showcasing their own
projects, giving current Year 12 students an insight into university
software projects.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Hi Robert,

This is OK with me.
Thanks very much for that.

Do I just turn up with my class on the day at 9:30am Robert?
Is there going to be some information sent out to our school or a map on where it's going to be held?

Cheers
Juliana

Me too.
Having changed to this book this year I
am seriously considering unchanging due to
lack of support. I managed to get the suggested
solutions to ch 1-3 last year, but since then I have
had no ability to login or get a response to password
requests. Patience is running very low.
Anyone else?

I emailed the publisher with no response.

q2)I have checkpoints 2008 for SD,. Is this the most relevant exam question book there is for the subject? I ask because I want my class to use this as part of their exam revision so I am trusting it to be worthwhile.
