Hi Steven,

Thanks for that - it is really important for us to know this sort of stuff.
We are obviously constrained by the study design and need to teach all
aspects and content within it - but this sort of input is the type of which
'we' really need come time for the study design to be redesigned.

Data flow diagrams were part of the old "structured design" paradigm,
which isn't popular today.  Our introductory software engineering
subject at Melbourne University used to touch on data flow diagrams in
passing, until about 3 years ago...
