[sharepoint] Setting up

Hi Jamie,

How did you go over the holidays with the Active Directory Link? Would
be a great help to have this work.

We have yrs 7 to 11 all using Sharepoint and parents as well. All is
going good and the teachers are now using it more as we only started 2nd
semester

Last year. Our staff and senior sub school are getting right into the
blogs, announcements and calendar for homework reminders.

I still have a bit of trouble with some of the setting up but getting
there, would like to know if there are any courses out there on
Sharepoint?

The sharepoint to Active Directry link it critical.  I've looked at
DotNetNuke (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/) which offers similar
functionality for free on the Windows platform, but at the time did not
offer the Active Directory link.  The Techs here will be setting it up
this week, and I'll be examining it all during the holidays.

It can do blogs - although we have not used these yet, but I have used
the discussion groups, wikis, etc. - and they all work great.  At the
moment, we are entering the permissions for students manually (which is
not ideal).  But over the next year, we will link Sharepoint to Active
Directory so that the students are automatically enrolled in classes.
