Hello all,

I just wanted to remind you about an event that VITTA is holding next Monday
25th August, *the Beginners Guide for Aspiring ICT Coordinators. *Register

This workshop will focus on what it takes to run a successful ICT Department
in a school. It is aimed at teachers who are about to take on a ICT
Coordinator's position or are thinking about doing so at the primary, middle
school or senior secondary level.

It will look at the various components of educational technology and how
they are overlaid with the day to day responsibilities of curriculum
direction and support, network management, IT technical support and ICT PD.

Pedagogy, innovation, new technologies and the role of ICT in the curriculum
now and in the future will be discussed. Participants will have the
opportunity to share resources to build up a repertoire of the "must have
toolbox" of software for Australian schools. This will include a look at a
number of online resources.
