Context

During 2006, I circulated a few e-mail on this lists related to
"conceptual understandings of computing". As a following stage in my
thinking through the ideas, I presented at the VITTA Conference in 2006
on this. Those of us who were there spent a few moments starting to
investigate the "big ideas" which are present within an apparently
simple topic such as "logging in". We found that in the 20 minutes or so
that we had for this activity, there were too many ideas and
insufficient time, but it was certainly one of the best discussions that
I have been part of. The objective of this workshop is to provide
sufficient time to engage in a session similar to the one which I ran at
VITTA Conference last year - teachers who attended that conference
session are more than welcome to participate again.

As a workshop, participants should come prepared to contribute to an
exciting way of thinking about what it means to teach ICT.

Despite the location, based on earlier responses, it is anticipated that
the participants would be mainly Secondary teachers, although ICT
teachers from any sector are welcome.

Some information of thinking, to date, on this topic:

lead into a a presentation at the 2007 VITTA conference.
