To Stephen Richards and others,

I owe an apology, because I was making a reply to an individual on the list, hit reply but didn't notice that the e-mail address which was pasted in was the list address, and not the individual's - so a 500K PDF file spread itself over a good part of the known universe. So, my apology for clogging up mailboxes.

Now, as to why a recipient e-mail client would treat my PDF as a .DAT is unknown to me, but when this happens, it is surely a pest. So, apologies again.

If anyone would like a copy of the paper (and couldn't retrieve it from the previous message), e-mail me directly and I'll send it to you personally!

Regards,

Paul,

On behalf of those of us who choose not to use Microsoft email products, can you repost the paper you mentioned in a more accessible format. It arrived on my machine as a .dat file which I can't open in any meaningful way - Word just gives me 45 pages of gibberish.

The website you directed us to was interesting - I've only skimmed it so far but it sounds similar to, or is a variant of, the constructivist approach we have been hearing about for the last 6 or
7 years. i.e. that children learn by constructing meaning from their experiences.

I look forward to reading your paper.

Steve Richards
