> Subject: [Oz-teachers] Clickview integration in Moodle
Hi All,
Just got off the phone with ClickView, trying to work out if there is an
elegant and teacher-friendly way to get ClickView content integrated
inside Moodle. Have been asked about this at a NSW DET school I am
contracting at.
Here's what I found out so far, and there is a question for you at the
end.....
You can link to videos inside Moodle but that link will only work on the
school network unless you have the additional "CV Home" product
Once you have CV Home you can use a different link in Moodle that will
work from outside the school
But the link will work with an additional layer of authentication and I
believe will just redirect users to the CV Home website. In other words,
embedding of videos in a Flash Player inside the Moodle course is not
possible
Microsoft Silverlight plugin is required to play the videos in a browser
There is an xml file that can be used in some way, maybe similar to
learning objects using the IMS Content Repository or MrCute plugin
Now for my question: can this be done more elegantly so that teachers
simply click "Add a Resource" in Moodle and choose "Add a Video" and then
search the database of videos from the ClickView library?
Even if it worked against the standard library. But ultimately against
the additional custom content added at each school.
Thanks,
Jason
p.s. wouldn't it be nice if CV had a YouTube style website that did away
with their proprietary server software being duplicated at every school?
Dreaming?

Stephen
