Hi Andrew. We too are going looking into this option. Initial talks
with vendors have indicated that 802.1N should be the way to go as it
provides much more bandwidth than A or G. I am currently waiting for the
vendor to do a site visit and survey of our requirement. I would
appreciate any thoughts you may have on this. One other criteria that is
important to us is battery life of the laptops to see the classes
through 5 periods straight before it can be recharged.
Regards
Alan

Subject: [offtopic] Class sets of laptops
Dear all
The school is currently investigating purchasing class sets off laptops
for use by the students so they can connect via wireless to the schools
network.
I have been asked to investigate if and how other schools are doing this
So, are then any schools that use laptops on a class set basis and also
use wireless to let the students connect.
We are not looking at going to a full laptop program but as part of
round 2 offers we need to investigate another option other then trying
to cable new rooms.
I would like to arrange a on site visit for My Technician and I if
possible.
Please respond off list directly to
