[Moodle] Issues with updated Moodle

Hoping someone can help,
Over the break the techs updated to the latest version of Moodle...
I have been able to set up new courses, but not add files or activities.
I found the new "activity chooser" button and switched that to on, and although I can now see the activities I still can't add any...
Am I doing a blokes look? Or has something not been checked?
