[Moodle] moodle Digest, Vol 64, Issue 1

I teach senior mathematics at Flinders College and we have been using
Moodle extensively over the last few years - and yes, maths is an
interesting issue....

I produce a range of quiz activities involving mathematical symbols by
using MathType and having 'Tex' filtering turned on. It is quite simple
to cut and paste in MathType code into quizzes (or forums, or moodle
messages etc...). and the results are quite effective.

Regards,

Michael

Hi
Does anyone have experience with how to accurately represent/write
formula
for science and maths into Moodle areas like quizzes and web pages?
Tips on achieving this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Peter

This is the Holy Grail of Moodle. One simple solution is to use pictures
of
formula and paste these into the question and multiple choice answers. (
FSCapture <http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm> is good for
this)

Hi Peter,

There is a LaTex filter module for Moodle that converts LaTex script
into math/sci formulae. That would be the most comprehensive solution.
