[Moodle] Unable to make teacher a Course Creator

Greetings. Yes I understand that teachers have to be assigned as Course Creators but every time I do that for this particular teacher, it reverts back to the original. I have tried recreating the userid in MS AD but still no joy. I also tried a restart of the server. It seem a weird one. I don't get this problem with any other teachers.

This is what happens.

I make that teacher a Course Creator by moving her from Potential Course Creator over to Course Creator. Is there an "update" button? I can't find it. Anyway, I just log out and then log in again and she is still showing up as a Course Creator.

I then log her in and the screen she get is not that of a Course Creator. I quickly check the Course Creator list again and find that she is no longer there. She has gone back over to the Potential Course Creator list.

Any ideas ?

Alan

Hi Stephen. Thanks for the reply. The issue here is that the teacher cannot create any courses at all when first logging in. It's not like she has to be added as a teacher in a course created by another teacher.

Thanks

Alan

A staff member needs to be added as a "teacher" to each moodle course separately before getting privileges as a teacher.

A staff member may be a teacher of one course and NOT have teacher rights in another course (i.e. one that they do Not teach)

A student can be given rights of a teacher in one course that they are asked to ménage without any effect on the security of other courses.

I think that your teacher needs to be added to the teacher list in the course or courses you speak of.

Hi all.

I have a student Johnson.el who logs in to moodle and gets only student views. I also have a teacher Johnson.e who logs into moodle and is also getting student access only. The teacher is not able to create any courses. Has any one encountered this kind of problem before ?

Thanks

ALan
