Hi Alan
Just off the top of my head
Within your network:
* Faster
* Will work if internet connection down (ie does not require users
to exit the network)
* You will need to organise backups
* Cost of hardware
* Need to configure remote access
* Need to configure a web server
Outside
* Slower
* ISP download costs
* Your organisation does not need a web server
* Cost of hosting
Regards

Dear moodlers, can someone enlighten me on the perils of having moodle
within your network against having it outside at the ISP ?
Thanks
Alan
