I get them to use the attachment option. Any pictures that are attached can be viewed in the forum browser. Recently we used this
feature to gather images of clouds that the group then went on to grade and score. We could have done this with a glossary / gallery
but I wanted to get a bit of a dialogue going. Interesting enough, if you look under bonnet at the forum and glossary moodle code,
it is theoretically possible to have more than one attachment. Not sure why they limit it to just one per message, perhaps this is a
'soon to come' feature.

Regards Roland

Yes... Links and image handling are the worst aspects of moodle.
In wiki's the link process provided by the HTML editor won't work at all as you have to use the [text|link] format a la wikipedia.
If you send a link direct to alocal file e.g. <a href "file///h:/fred.doc etc etc, the moodle interpreter alters it to http://h/fred
etc etc so that it doesn't find the folder or file.

Things will get better as moodle develops developer support ....

Why is the alphabet in that order? Is it because of that song? The guy who wrote that song wrote everything.- Steven Wright

I've set up the Footy tipping forum as a social class and to keep it light and fun want to enable students to upload pictures in
their posts.
When they attempt this they see a dialog like this which seems more hindrance than help.
