[Moodle] Site News - Moodle home Page

Greetings,

I was wondering is there any way of posting a news item on the moodle home
page in site news so that there is no option to reply. We really just want
to make an announcement. We want to prevent students from using it as a chat
room. This option is available with all other forums (no discussions, no
replies) but seems to be missing in site news.
