I would agree that the examiner’s report is vague.

As far as I can tell your answer is perfectly fine or a consistent HH:MM AM\PM. The Field5 could also be set to a standard 3 letter format. Not Tues, Tu but Tue so that sorting or grouping the data collected the day accurately

Hi all,

Hoping to clarify something in the examiner’s report regarding 2014 exam, Question 10c

I’ve pasted the relevant parts of the question in below.

I’m marking a practice exam from one of my students, and his answer for 10c is essentially,

-          Format the time field to 24 hour (e.g. 15:30)

-          This would ensure that all data is consistent in appearance, therefore, making it easier to read and interpret.

I think that’s a great answer, and worth 2 marks.

However, when referencing the model answer from the examiner’s report, I see

Nothing in the model answer appears to mention data formats at all.

You can see in erratum that data formats should include fixed decimal places, various date formats, 12 hour/24 hour time, true/false, yes/no.

Can anyone shed some light here?
