Technically Google sites does meet all of the requirements with ability to do custom CSS; however in saying that I still haven't used it as I until we get a definitive statement about using a CMS I won't be using it.

I haven’t used Google sites, but I know with wix, students wouldn’t have the capacity to put in their own css page, make their own buttons, or a few other requirements.
I could be wrong (apparently I have been once before :)) but I’d stick with a pure website editor like Dreamweaver in one of its variants.

Hi all,

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'm just seeking clarification and perhaps a fresh perspective... Can Google Sites classify as a web authoring tool for the purposes of IT Applications?  And for that matter, what about other web-based platforms like Wix and Weebly?
