[Year 12 IT Apps] Jeb - bad president or bad font? help

Control keys? Luxury!
On my Commodore 64 word processor (Paperclip), we had to type the equivalent of tags to set bold, italics, underline, then print it off on an Oki printer – the type with the wax tapes. Many a teacher hated that printer I’m sure…
No such niceties as print preview, at least until Geos came out and I used that instead.

Back off .. control K Z beats your function keys and constant sneak peek at print preview. lol
Seriously though, many years ago I had some fun with text files with a group of students, explaining to them that the control Z was how the computer system closed a file. I forgot how but we made some test files and examined them with an editor. We learned that this was how the computer knew precisely where the file had ended and the dragons fare in the lands beyond (and password fragments as all good hackers know). OK, now I am well off topic. Sorry everybody.

To be honest, I don't miss any of them ... except Mutt, arcane, fast and brilliant.

Did somebody say IE 6 emulator? http://netrenderer.com/, this German error screen brings back memories. What could be more retro than looking at the future with IE6 glasses.
How about Lynx, an original that I used in the early 1990’s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_(web_browser)

Use Comic Sans for body text.
Use frames.
Animated GIFs rule.
CSS is a passing fad. Ignore it.
Stick with HTML 1.0 for compatibility with Internet Explorer 6.
That's all they need to know. All the rest is practice.
Hope that helps, Nagla.

Here here, settle down everybody. Close that frame and put down that font before somebody gets seriously hurt.
I had too much fun with the “Websites that Suck” website .. design hell to teach good design skills. The author slipped into retirement and obscurity .. :-(
Here are some real clients from hell .. good share with your students:

While we're talking about bad fonts ... you're not considering running for president are you? ^____^
I could do. I have a cognitive disability when it comes to design, as anyone who has been to vceit.com<http://vceit.com/> can attest.
Some people are tone deaf. I'm design deaf.
Anyway - what's wrong with the Angry Birds font??
Will you be telling me next that you don't like using delightfully whimsical Comic Sans for body text on webpages and in emails?
Philistine!
