[Year 12 IT Apps] Why keeping your keys in the freezer can stop thieves breaking into your car

Dammit, sir. Now I'll not get to sleep tonight.
I wish my Subaru BRZ had the same thief-proof technology I enjoyed with my
first motorbike, a Harley-Davidson Aermacchi 350.
Cunningly, it only started after being rolled down a steep hill and popping
the clutch into second gear.
I had to remember always to park at the top of a hill if I expected to get
to uni on the next day.
Two personal security sidebars:
- My mother had a story of how after shopping at Southland Shopping Centre,
she returned to her Morris Minor, unlocked it, drove home - and then
realised the stuff in the boot was not hers. She had the wrong car. She
returned the car, found hers parked nearby and came back home.
- For years I have had a worn old key that has unlocked *every* filing
cabinet I have ever come across. And when I was a little tacker I
discovered that our garage door key unlocked *every* garage door in the
street.
That's how the modern hacker must feel.
Hola.
