Hi Mandy,

 

I'd also recommend Movie Maker for its simplicity and cost (free with
Windows). Novice users will have little to no difficulty creating a basic
movie with transition effects, animated title screens, and the like.

 

For 'expert' users, forums exist where staff and students can learn how to
increase the functionality of the program through a variety of advanced tips
and tricks and the installation of add-ons. I've found the following to be
quite helpful in the past:

The most simple and free video editing program is Movie Maker. It can't do
everything but it really is simple for everyone to use.

I am looking for advice on good, generic video editing software that can be
used across a secondary school, both by non-experts and more advanced users.
Obviously the cheaper the better! Is  anyone able to help with suggestions,
both of what to try and what to avoid?
