Like most education lists, Edulists is an public list service and membership is open to any that want to join that agree to the conditions. To date, the system works surprisingly well.

Nothing is totally private online. If you don’t want to have your words picked over or read by the future, don’t post it online today. As I explain to my student teachers, you are in a very social and highly networked profession so expect your teaching to be collaborative, remixed, remashed and reshared for decades to come. Expect your professional life to be examined by school leaders, parents and students. They will cast a suspicious eye on anybody that hides with in the shadows of a classroom to keep your behaviour open, respectful and dignified. If you want a private life, don’t mix it with your professional life.

If you want to share a resource privately with other educators on this list such that students could not readily acces it than upload to Scootle and share the link back here. Their email verification process works very nicely and limits it to professional educators in Australia. It is really worth checking this out.
