Hi Frank,

I designed and teach a Year 9 Game design elective based around Game Maker. I've made video tutorials and links to resources for games like Clickball, Arkanoid, Pacman, 1945, and Counterstrike 2D on my website at http://www.mrlee.it/resources.php (scroll to middle of page). There's also a course planner, theory stuff and tasks/assignments. Apologies as the powerpoint/word tuts aren't perfect and don't quite match the videos I made as they were made when I started learning Game Maker myself and I found better ways to make them over time..

Anyone can feel free to use them (just let me know if you do and how it goes :) )

Hello fellow Listers

Just a quick query is anyone teaching a gaming elective unit at either yr9 or 10 level?
I have been asked to take a year 10 Gaming unit next year. I have used game maker with students in the past but only to a basic level.
Is anyone out there using gamemaker or other programs such as unreal or unity. Wanted to make connections to swap and share ideas and resources.

thanks

Hi Frank,

I am using Game Maker for Windows at both 9 and 10 level. Have found the book "The Game Maker's Apprentice" to be a great resource, there is also a second book "The Game Maker's Companion". They are available on the Google Play store, and I was able to source hardcopies through my library recently. Found the books to be much better than the tutorials at Yoyo Games. You can email directly at bruckner.neil.d at edumail.vic.gov.au

Hope that helps.

Regards

Neil.
