As we are a Google Apps school, my students each have a folder that is
shared with them within Google Drive. They place their work within it and
I modify the sharing permissions at the end of each lesson with a Script
to disallow them access until they return to class. When the lesson starts
I re-share the folders and the cloud pushes down their copies to their
computers. If the internet was down I would simply copy the contents to
our network.
Other than that looking at the information on last modified content is
enough of a deterent
