Hi all. This is a bit tangential, but may be useful for U4O2, or just nice
for your kids to know.
If you haven't heard of mailinator.com, it's a brilliant (and free) way to
safely give an email address that is instantly created (just by telling it
to someone) and completely disposable. Just give *any* address @
mailinator.com and any mail sent to that address can be collected by
visiting mailinator.com and entering the address. There is no login,
password or membership required.
Of course if someone else on the planet also enters the same address as you
chose, you'll be sharing the same inbox, but mailinator is not meant to be
another gMail. It's intended to be a way to get a one-off reply from
someone you don't entirely trust not to spam you (e.g. registering for a
site that requires email authentication.) If the address gets spammed, you
just leave it behind and use another one next time.
I likes it!
