Thanks Rob, what I meant was do you need to use a macro to then create a report or pay slip after the calculation of pay is done or is it enough in the sac to just have them do some calculations and vlookups?

The calc of pay in itself is done with formulas in the spreadsheet, not with macros.
You could use a macro to input the data: eg enter 'no of hrs worked' etc.

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hi,
I'm teaching IT Apps for the first time and am wondering if macro's are required for unit 4 outcome 1 if you use spreadsheets. For example, the study design example requires students to calculate pay, do they need to be able to create a pay slip for each employee? The VITTA example requires some reports.
Any advice you could offer would be much appreciated.
