[Year 12 IT Apps] ITA/SD exam totals

We all know, or should know, that actual marks mean nothing at all in the VCE system. All that marks do is arrange the students in a particular subject in order. Then the norm-referenced evaluation model used by VCAA simply allocates an A+ to the top ?% of students, A to the next ?%, etc. The result being a range of grades where the median grade is about top C+. 

The "difficulty" of subjects is determined via multiple subject score comparisons - what would we do without computers? The adjustment of study scores for subjects is based on this determined difficulty.

  I'm enjoying my post-reports glow by having a good ponder. 

  While it's good to see the SD exam total mark settle down to a nice round '100' (after years of odd numbers like 89),  I wonder why ITA is still out of 90.  

  Is SD harder because it has 10 extra marks to earn?  :-]

  It seems to be a strange inconsistency.

  Next study design, maybe!
