[Year 12 IT Apps] U3O1

Hi Litsa and all,

I have used this method of making a rubric from the descriptors and prefer it.  We are also expected to give rubrics for all assessment tasks.  However, I have had issues with justifying the weighting. 
On page 25 of the assessment handbook they have these weightings for U3O1:
Task 1 – Interpretation of provided analysis

(4 marks)

Task 1 – Design

(8 marks)

Task 1 – Development, including testing

(28 marks)

Task 2 – Why organisations acquire data online

2 marks

Task 2 – Techniques for  electronic data collection

(6 marks)

Task 2 – Why organisations and individuals supply data

(2 marks)


Has anyone found an easy way to meld the descriptors and the weighting in a rubric? 
I am thinking that the best way is to put the total and the weighting at the end of each row (rather than at the bottom of the columns).  But if anyone has other ideas I would love to hear them. (Thank heavens for spreadsheets!)
