Thanks Mark and others, this is my reading also.

Present a problem and students should be able to use whatever web site
elements they think are appropriate and can justify in the report.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Hi Michael. Yes, it looked odd to me too. Only one Web2.0 tool for an
entire website? Most community websites have at least a forum and blog
or some other combination. I got my kids to choose whatever Web2.0
tools they saw fit.

Different tools for different jobs - a single tool can't satisfy all the
needs of an online community.

To all those who have already completed Outcome 1, I have a query.

In the written report part of the SAC, students have to address this:
"Justify web sites that suit the needs of different on-line communities"
(quoted from Key Skills of Study Design). Yet, in many of the examples
and generous offerings from colleagues, this is rephrased to something
like "Justify the type of web site that suits the needs of ... (fill in
specific online community here)

Now by "type of web site" I take it to mean blog, wiki, forum etc.

But did your students create a prototype web site that neatly fitted
into one of these types?

Or did they create a web site with some elements from many types and
some basic web pages too?

Do they need to create a specific type of web site or whatever they
think will work for the outlined needs?
